BERLIN, 3rd May, 2025 (WAM) -- In line with its commitment to staying updated on the latest developments in information technology and cybersecurity, the Sharjah Electricity, Water, and Gas Authority (SEWA) participated in the Fortinet Accelerate25 conference held in Berlin, Germany.
The event was organised by Fortinet, a global leader in technology solutions and cybersecurity.
The conference featured a selection of global specialists and experts who discussed increasing security challenges and presented innovative solutions to support secure digital transformation
Attending the conference were Fatima Ali Asghar, Acting Director of the Information Technology and Communication Department, and Asma Youssef Al Hosani, Director of the Governance, Risk, and Compliance Department within the Internal Audit and Risk Assessment Division. They explored advanced technologies and integrated solutions for securing networks and digital infrastructures, as well as the use of artificial intelligence to enhance efficiency and reliability.
Majid Isa Harimel Al Shamsi, Executive Director of Corporate Support Services, stated that the authority's participation in this global conference underscores its ongoing commitment to adopting best global practices and investing in technical knowledge to enhance system readiness and continuity against evolving cyber threats.
Fatima Ali Asghar noted that attending the Accelerate25 conference provided an opportunity to learn about global trends in cybersecurity and exchange experiences with specialists from various countries, which contributes to accurate assessment and the utilisation of advanced solutions in line with the authority's digital transformation strategy.
Asma Youssef Al Hosani emphasised that the conference's focus on compliance and data governance reinforced the importance of integrating governance policies with technological solutions. The authority will explore the potential to employ these solutions to deepen and enhance its compliance and risk management framework.
